We are excited to announce we are recruiting members to join our second Youth Advisory Panel. The Panel will continue to provide a youth voice across every part of the Council, lead projects, and raise awareness of routes into the profession.
If you are aged between 16 and 25 years on 1 April 2025, based in the UK, and passionate about cyber security, then this opportunity is for you.
So far, the Panel has
- Led careers webinars inspiring other young people
- Advised the Council on establishing entry-level cyber pathways
- Represented young people in decision-making across the Council in committees and working groups
- Created and maintained an Instagram account (@uk_cybersecuritycouncil).
Panel members have
- Received support to enhance their personal and professional development
- Influenced the Council’s decision-making
- Joined a new cyber security community.
Successful candidates will serve a voluntary position on the Panel from April 2025 to April 2026 with the opportunity to be re-appointed at the end of the term. The role will include meetings and project work, and we expect it to be approximately 4-6 hours of their time per month. The Council will also cover the cost of a Basic disclosure check for all Panel members.
Applications go live on Monday 20 January and close on Sunday 9 February. We will invite shortlisted candidates for a video call for the week commencing 17 February.
